I have been a freelance publishing professional since 2018 and avail my services to independent authors in need of developmental editing, copyediting/line editing, print/eBook layout, and general consulting. The majority of my clients are looking to self-publish. As such, much of my guidance is tailored for that publishing route rather than the traditional path.

My specialties at this time are children's fiction and genre fiction, however I can handle all but the most technical of subjects. If you've got a manuscript, chances are I can work with it.

What we are not is a vanity press. You will not be paying to be part of a catalog or front-list. You will not be paying me to represent you as your literary agent. I am not at any kind of scale to be acquiring titles, and pay-for-publish is a scam. Authors should always be aware of these kinds of arrangements floating around.

Another note: I refuse to touch anything generated or otherwise produced by large-language-models, GPTs, AI, whatever you or a suit want to label them. They are plagiarism algorithms. They also make for terrible writers.

With all of that out of the way, you can find a guideline for my services below, which follow the Editorial Freelance Association's rate guides.

# Publishing Services Rate Guide
Developmental Editing $45/hr or $45 per 5 manuscript pages
Copyediting $40/hr or $40 per 10 manuscript pages
Layout (Print or Digital) $45/hr
General Consulting $50/hr
eBook Conversion from Print Varies by project

These are mostly guidelines, chances are I can work something out for you and your project. It's tough to gauge a children's book via manuscript page for example. I'm eminently flexible.

Those interested in developmental edits should note that I include a complimentary editorial assessment. Editorial assessments involve a thorough reading of the manuscript and written feedback in letter format that addresses high-level concerns, marketability, basic comp research, any general structure issues, tone, pacing, etc.

I always ask my clients if there are any specific concerns they have with their manuscript and I make sure to work with them to overcome those hurdles. An editorial assessment is an excellent way to gain that introductory feedback on a draft in a digestible format.
