New Year, New Site

Lots to be excited about this year, more to come from the publishing side, the audio side, and more.

Hello and welcome to the new home of DeadEndRoad Media, conveniently located at deadendroad.media. There are several reasons for the domain change but most of them are unimportant to anyone that isn't me. TL;DR: the old webhost was screwing me over, I needed to get out, and why not upgrade the site while I was at it.

The transition happened at the end of last year, as we were still putting out episodes of The DeadEndRoad Show while the site was being configured, in a sort of making-the-staircase-as-you-walk-on-it kind of thing. That's why it looks like the site is solely focused on podcast uploads for the moment.

But with this new coat of paint brings new content. New slop for the mill. Hard, creative work that gets boiled down to SEO and stolen for some billionaire's AI dataset. We're doing fine. Just fine.

I've started, and will continue, posting some older (and newer when the time comes) short form writing from me back from my zine days. These prose and poetry pieces will live under the "Fiction" header up at the top for simplicity's sake.

Also up at the top you can find the link to our brand new store page. The new store should be much more user-friendly, in addition to accepting a whole lot more payment options like Google and Apple Pay, CashApp, etc. I want to make it as easy as possible for anyone to hand me some money in exchange for books and hopefully the new store accomplishes that.

We also offer digital gift cards now, which I am irrationally excited about. They're good for any purchases from DeadEndRoad Publishing, including upcoming 2024 releases. How's that for a teaser? I've got at least three children's works on the calendar, and potentially some general audience work as well if I can get my act organized enough. Maybe that's a better teaser.

In the immediate future on the podcast front The DeadEndRoad Show will be returning with all of its explorations of late-stage web nonsense and media analysis we can handle. And in the coming couple of weeks I will be launching Did It All For The Moogle, spinning off the segment from the main show into its own thing, to the delight of my co-host and anyone that listens to The DeadEndRoad Show. But if, like me, you're obsession with games that take at least 50 hours to finish and seeing the funny numbers go up gives you a nice hit of serotonin, check it out wherever you listen to dudes talk into microphones.

You can subscribe to the site here for free, nothing is paywalled, and at the moment I would feel weird paywalling anything. That way you'll get new posts directly to your inbox, I won't spam you since I hate getting spammed. The way the site is setup there has to also be a paid option, so if anyone is impressed enough to send us a few dollars I'd be eternally grateful as I ended up losing some money after the old host told me to eat dirt.

Those are my updates. Lots to be excited about this year, more to come from the publishing side, the audio side, and more. New projects launching in a couple of weeks that I'm really stoked for people to see. Thanks for checking out this little corner of weird. Talk soon.
